Step 3 - Home Page Name and Content
Introduction
The Home page is one of the most important pages of your website. It is one of several pre-stocked pages and serves several important purposes.

By choosing your storefront's design (Step 2), you determined the look and feel of your Home page. Now all you need to do is add content. But before we begin discussing page content, let's first discuss how to name the Home page.

Activity 1: Name Your Home Page
  • Go to the Pages menu.
  • In the Pages submenu, you will see a list of the pages that are already included with your account (see below). Depending upon your base account selection, you may have renamed the Home page. (Your Home page is marked by the House icon.)
  • Click on the Home Page row and then click the Edit button, or double-click the home page row.
  • After you click the Edit button, or double-click the row, you will be directed to the Elements submenu. This submenu is used to add content to the page. Because you are trying to name the Home page, you need to click the Edit submenu.
  • In the Name field, type the name of the page as it will appear in the navigation bar of your website and in other links leading to the page (see below).
  • In the Title field, type the text that will appear as a heading at the top of the page itself.

For more explanation concerning the other fields of the Edit submenu, click the Help button.
Activity 2: Adding Home Page Content (Option 1)
When you add content to your home page, you find the need to rearrange the order and location of the content. MyeBiz Pro makes rearranging easy with its Preview Mode.

The Preview mode is one of the most innovative website-building environments of our day. You can experience the look and feel of your website as if you were a customer. You can shop, navigate, order products, track orders, and more. If you discover elements that need to be changed, or decide you want to add more elements, you can use the preview mode's dynamic point-and-click environment to edit, rearrange, add, and delete your page elements. If you choose to use the Preview Mode to add content and build your website pages (recommended), you will soon discover the simplicity of the process. For instance, you may choose to add elements to a page layer, edit the elements, change their location, and more, all by clicking and selecting options.
  • Go to the Pages menu.
  • Click on the Home page row and then click the Edit button, or double-click the home page row. Doing so should direct you to the Elements submenu.
  • Click the Preview button. Doing so will help you see your website as it would appear to an online visitor.
  • To add a new element, go to the Pull-down menu and select the element of your choice (see below).
  • Click the Add button (see below).

You have several elements to choose from. To see the list of elements and their functions, click the Help button while in Preview mode.
  • When you select an element and then click Add, the element is added to the page. Scroll down and double-click on the element just added (see below).

Typically, when you choose an element from the pull-down menu and then click the Add button, the element is added directly to the Center location. However, if you first click on (or highlight) an existing element in the Right, Left, or Bottom location, and then add an element from the pull-down menu, the newly added element will be found in the Right, Left, or Bottom location.
  • When you double-click on the element, you are taken to the element's Edit page where you can make the needed adjustments and changes. Depending on the element, the editing screen could allow you to choose options and fill in various fields. Because each element serves a different purpose, we cannot discuss specific options and fields in this tutorial. However, while in the editing screen of the element, click the Help button to learn about the options and fields.
  • Repeat the steps of adding and editing elements to the Home page. To change the location of an element, drag and drop the element to the desired location (i.e. Left, Center, Right, Bottom). To drag and drop the element, click over the element with your mouse and hold down the button. While holding down the mouse button, direct the mouse pointer to the desired location. Drop the element in the desired location by releasing the mouse button.
If, after changing the element's location, the element's order is not as you wish, drag and drop the element within the same location to achieve the proper element order. As you select and drag the element to another location, the element's type is displayed. This could help you know whether you are rearranging an element on the page layer or a background layer.
Activity 3: Adding Home Page Content (Option 2)
This is the traditional method of adding content to your Home page and other pages of your site.
  • Go to the Pages menu.
  • Click on the Home page row and then click the Edit button, or double-click the home page row. Doing so should direct you to the Elements submenu.
  • To add a new element, go to the Pull-down menu and select the element of your choice. Click the Add button (see below).

You have several elements to choose from. To see the list of elements and their functions, click the Help button of the Elements submenu.
  • When you select an element and then click Add, you are taken to the element's editing screen. Depending on the element, the editing screen could allow you to choose options and fill in various fields. Because each element serves a different purpose, we cannot discuss specific options and fields in this tutorial. However, while in the editing screen of the element, click the Help button to learn about the element-specific options and fields.
